Justification

Sometimes we hang on to our sins, whether it is wrongful feels, like anger, jealousy, desire, and not give it to God.  Hanging on to our sin wears us out, like a weight we drag around.

Restrictions

What's keeping you from showing God's love?

If you look at the links in the chain, there are different sins that hold us back from who we were meant to be.

Preaching

I wonder what the church would be like if Jesus was the pastor.

I think He would preach about love every Sunday.  He showed us how to make love our action and our reaction.  He showed us by example.  He forgave the sinner, fed the hungry, healed the sick.  Made blind men see, and lame walk.  Brought people back from the dead.  He loved his enemies, and forgave them.  He died for you and me.

He told us to love.  Matthew 5:43-48; Luke 6:27-36; John 13:34 & 35; Romans 9:-21, 13:8-10;

Perhaps we should define ourselves using 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, as Christ defined Himself.

Are you fighting?

I'm not sure what to say about this post.  For me I think this one speaks for itself.  As Christians, I believe we are NOT to do what everyone else is doing, but showing that we are different, by our behaviour, our speech, our actions/reactions.  We are to be following what Christ says.  FIGHT THE TIDE, should be our motto.  Just because everyone else is "doin' it", doesn't mean it's right.

Who are you?

First, Thank you to all those who prayed for my son.  God answers prayers, my son doesn't need surgery!!!

We sure can put up a good front at times.  We can smile and nod on the outside, but grumble and complain on the inside.  What is in our hearts will eventually come out in our thoughts, speech and actions.

No fence sitters allowed.

We need to decide were we stand.

A child's view

I want to first apologize for the long wait.  After two years of being unemployed, I recently started a new job. Praise God for that.  If you remember, please pray for my son, he maybe needing surgery.

Now, new post...
This time I am not putting on a picture.  My son, who is twelve, is the inspiration behind this post.

We were recently driving through our town, and he saw a man on his bike.  Beside the bike was this man's dog, who was not leashed.  My son watched this two-some until we drove by, then he sat in reflection for a few minutes before turning to me.
"We are like that mom," he said
"How?"  I asked, wondering what he was meaning.
"God is like the man on the bike."  He began.  "We are like that dog.  God has us off the leash, trusting us that we will follow Him.  But we're like bad dogs.  We get distracted by things and run away."


Only through the eyes of a child, are we reminded how much God loves us and wants us to trust and follow only Him.

Looking at things with a new perspective/firm foundation

If we can look at things or people through the eyes of Christ, we'll see something completely different.

This picture can also be used as 'a firm foundation'

hanging onto sin.

Sometimes we can't reach our full potential because of something in our life that's hindering us.

If we know about it, we tend to justify why we hang onto that sin.

If only we could see the harm it actually does us, and release it; so we can use both hands to hold onto what is good.

Choices

I think we make our lives harder then it should be.  We do things because everyone else is doing it'.
But does that make it right?

Masks

Do you live for God only during Sunday Worship and as soon as you get home, you're back to your everyday life?  Or do you continue living for God all week?

Are you afraid of what people will do if they know your a christian?

Do you grumble, in your mind and heart..."Here we go again, back to church for Wednesday Pray meeting."  Put on your mask, smile and say, "It's great to be here."

(1 Corinthians 4:16)  "So I urge you to imitate me."
Why do we wear masks.  At church we wear our church mask; at work we wear our work mask; at home we wear our home mask; at school we wear our school mask.   If we are with friends we wear our friends mask.

If we live for Christ, we shouldn't have a mask.
(Matthew16:24) "Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If any of you wants to be My follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow Me..."
Christ didn't wear a mask, he wore a crown of thorns.
If we are to imitate Him, remove your masks, let people see, REALLY see, Christ in you ...at church, at home, at school, with friends... everywhere, all the time.
With masks on, we can fool anyone....but the One that matters.
(1 Samuel 16:7)  "...The Lord doesn't see things the way you see them.  People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."

The doors in our life

Our life is a mansion; rooms filled with doors.  The doors are all our choices, possibilities, wants and desires.
Christ, who is our guide, leads us around, showing us the doors we need to go through.
Lots of times we get distracted, wanting to go through different doors.  Sometimes we try to "back track", going back the way we came because this door led to a hurtful or painful experience.
God is molding us.
Those experiences are meant to shape us to who He wants us to be.  We just need to keep our eyes on Him, our guide, and keep following, until He leads us through the exit.

Listening

I wonder how many times we read the Holy Book, then forget what we read and do our own thing?  Are we really taking in what we've read?  Are we really listening to what the scripture is saying to us?

Maybe we should take the earplugs out of our ears and listen to what God is saying to us as we read His word.
